Ingredients:
- 4 Fish steaks (cut whole fish into ½ inch portions)
- 4 Tbsp Bali’s Best® Sweet Soy
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 3-4 Tbsp Garlic, minced
- 2 Tbsp Cooking Oil
- 3 tsp Sweet Rice Wine, Mirin, Sake or Shaoxing
- 1 tsp Ginger juice (squeezed from grated ginger)
- Scallions and Cilantro for garnish
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Coat fish steaks with sesame oil and sprinkle with salt & pepper.
- Whisk together Bali’s Best® Sweet Soy, sweet rice wine and ginger juice in a bowl.
- Marinate fish with some of the sauce, then steam the fillets over boiling water for 10 minutes.
- In a pan, warm cooking oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until medium brown. Then separate the toasted garlic bits from the oil in the pan.
- Brush the steamed fish steaks with garlic oil & garnish with the toasted garlic bits.
- Top with chopped scallions and cilantro for color and flavor.
- Spoon the remaining sauce around the fish and serve immediately.
